We formally established DeFina Auctions in 1983. Our firm is family owned and operated. Although we officially started our business full time in 1983, we had been conducting auctions on a part time basis since 1980.

In the early years we auctioned from our old barn and sold most of our prized possessions to survive. Fortunately for us things worked out. We have since built  a main gallery, two additions and storage facilities. We have been blessed with many good friends and supporters over the years and for this we are most appreciative. We have sold items for numerous prominent families, museums, and historical societies in Ohio and surrounding states.

Most of our business now comes from word of mouth and satisfied clients. Our commission rates are competitive and our advertising is extensive. We are conveniently located within half an hour from Painesville, an hour from  Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, and Erie, Pa. An hour and a half from Canton, about 2 1/2 hours from Pittsburgh and Buffalo and only three and a half hours from Rochester, N.Y.

The items we offer are antiques and include fine art, furniture, crystal, porcelain, paintings, Oriental carpets, sterling silver, toys, jewelry, and decorative arts of all varieties.

We have a competent full time staff and a supportive group of well qualified individuals who specialize and offer their expertise in all fields of the antique market. We have sold to clients from as far away as Tokyo and Australia, several European countries, and other parts of the world, not to mention those in all parts of The United States.
